Post 4 and 5

Okay well I have been MIA since I have been at work...those 12 hour days just seem to suck every living ounce of energy I have, so when I get home all I do is shower to get rid of all those germs, eat the wonderful meal my husband has prepared, feed Gracie, then GRASH... So here is two days to catch up a little on the challenge

My parents:
#4
Patricia Ann Emlet and Charles Arthur Emlet

My mom has always seem to be around whenever I have needed her, and has many different jobs throughout the years. When I was younger I always remember going to show houses with her, she sold Real estate for many years, back in the 80's and early 90's, she then transitioned to the Art teacher at my school when we were living in California. It was always nice to have her around even though I often rolled up my uniform skirt and she would seem to always catch me :) Then in Highschool she opened an internet business selling and designing counted cross stitch... www.cross-stitch-art.com allowing her to always be home and keep a close eye on me, not that I was bad or anything :)

My dad has always been there when the time came. Many memories are of him leaving however, throughout JR. High he completed his PHd which took so much of his time since he continued to work full time as well to support our family. I remember getting audio cassettes of him talking to me when he was gone and just being heart broken. One summer he sent me a sweatshirt from his school and I refused to take it off since I missed him so much...now remember this is summer in California not this Washington 70's. But the thing about my dad is that if I really need to talk he was my main man...and even to this day if I need someone thats truly going to listen and give me heartfelt advice it would be my dad. OH Yes and he is in LOVE with Gracie...more than any other grandparent, I never imagined he would be the baby hog :)

And the best thing about my parents...they are still married! I know WOW doesn't happen very often these days, but it is such a joy to have that blessing!

Siblings:
Well I have none :( ... and Steve doesn't have any either :( ... But I'm pretty sure Gracie will have several ... :)

I will leave you with the picture that I took of Gracie today!

Pictures off my phone

I was reading a friends blog tonight and decided I should take my photos off my phone to my computer. So here are some that were special to me;

Steve wearing Gracie's Jeans! lol

5 months and counting!

Today Gracie turned 5 months,
time seem to go by so fast when you have a marker like a baby. It really makes me appreciate the time I have with her when I'm home.

Working has definitely been my biggest challenge by far. Its soooo hard to remember in the morning that this is what the Lord has planned for my day rather than staying home and taking care of my little girl. In my hear it feels so wrong and it feels like I'm breaking every time I leave her. I'm gone for 13 -14 hours I come home feed her, hoping that she waited long enough so I can nurse her then put her to bed after about an hour then get up and do it all over again. I have been working 2 days on 2 days off then 3 days on but now the good part 7 days off. Right now I"m on my "off" portion so I'm feeling a little more optimistic.

Our milestones so far:
- We are 13 lbs 14 ounces
- Nursing still, taking 2 bottles a day of formula, If I had to give my kid formula at least its at night so she will sleep well. She sleeps from 9pm-6am then I wake up feed her then we both go back to sleep until 9. It seems to be working well.
- Rolling from our tummy to back, but avoiding the other direction even though I know she can roll that way!
- We are so full of smiles but only giggle a little. I told her that she is too serious. Doesn't she know who her mommy is...I'm so far from serious.
- No food yet, I"m holding off until 6 months from advice from my lactation nurse and some friends. I want to wait and nurse as long as possible.
- I finally packed up and put her newborn and 0-3 month clothes away. We are fitting well in the 3-6 month clothes or still the 3 months of carters.
- She spends at least 1 sometimes 3 days a week with daddy and they really are bonding so much more than they had in the past. Some days I don't even think she know's I'm at work. Good for her, sad for me :(
- She said her first pledge of a allegiance yesterday...I put her hand over her heart, we will make her a proud American before you know it! But yes Sandra she will love her Swedish cousins :)
- Still no sign of teeth. I think we will be on the later end of developing but just means more baby time, which I sure am enjoying.

I will post some pictures of Gracie with her 5 month Picky Stickies as soon as my dad comes over and takes them. I can't wait!!

Long time no talk

Well its been a very long time since I have posted on our blog. But after a request from a very sweet relative in Sweden I will do my best to keep everyone up to date on our lives.

Next week I'm headed back to work. This will probably be harder for me then going through labor. I much rather be at home with my loving family taking care of them and even doing LAUNDRY which I despise. But it must be done so off I go.

Gracie Statistics:
At 3 months (I realize she is 4 months old now)
11 lbs 6 oz
24.5 inches

She now weighs 12 lbs 10 oz as of last Tuesday. You can see her cheeks are really starting to fill out

For this entry I will just post some pictures and a short video and we can continue to catch up gradually!
