17 Weeks Today :)

Saturday Check in- 17w

How Far Along: 17 Weeks Today!

How big is baby?: Well depending on the website a turnip or onion. Hmmm Onion sounds like heartburn waiting to happen so lets go with turnip.

Total Weight Gain: 3-4 lbs

Maternity Clothes:. Not yet. The bellyband is great! I do have a pair of maternity jeans I purchased but they are too big and are still baggy at this moment in time ☺

Sleep: AMAZING!! I’m a gifted sleeper as soon as I hop into bed I’m out. This is my norm though. My only thing that keeps me up is my trips to the bathroom. But If I don’t drink to much past 8 or 9 I can avoid this all together.

Best Moment This Week: Feeling the baby move for the first time! YAY

Movement: For sure this time it wasn’t gas.

Gender: I think girl…my mom on the other hand is convinced boy. We will see who has the motherly instincts on May 4th.

Labor Signs: No and hopefully not for a loooooooong time.

Belly Button in or out: Innie

What I miss: Advil!

What I'm Looking Forward to: Finding out if it is a boy or girl ☺

Weekly Wisdom: Nothing is for certain in this life, enjoy every second that the Lord gives you He ordained it!

Funny Prediction

So I answered my favorite color, the weather outside, how many brother and sisters and a few other questions and this is the answer I recieved....

The day you deliver, outside will be bright. Your baby will arrive in the mid morning. After a labor lasting approximately 7 hours, your child, a girl, will be born. Your baby will weigh about 12 pounds, 2 ounces, and will be 20-1/2 inches long. This child will have light blue eyes and fluffy black hair.

Week 15

Well one more week until our next check up! This week we have made it to the size of an apple. I finally wore my maternity pants for the first time, but they are still to big. (I bought them bigger anticipating growth). So I purchased the belly band today and that seems to be perfect. I can still button my pants BUT they dig into me and are NOT comfortable. Here is the picture of the week:

We did have an exciting week. Steve decided that he still needed to woooo his wife. Which is GREAT. I love it. So he planned a special date on Thursday and went all out. We went to Anthonys Home Port, which wasn't the great part. The fun part was dressing up. Usually I'm lucky IF I get a husband in jeans and a sweater or collared shirt, and girls thats a big IF. But this is how he came down the stairs dressed:

What a handsome feller!!
I couldn't believe my eyes. The whole nine yards, hair styled, a suit with the vest, and cologne. It was a very special occasion to feel worth the effort. We continued the night with a great dinner and dessert to go. We took black berry cobbler and went down to ruston way parked and looked at the water/lights and ate our desert. THANKS STEVE!!!

Then yesterday Spauld and I decided to make the treck up to the Gap in University Village because they have a Maternity section there. NOT WORTH IT!! It was so small, and over priced. They have a better selection at Target. I did purchase a maternity sweater and a small T-shirt but that was the total purchases for both of us in Seattle. We headed south stopped for a great lunch at Panera...mmmm one of our favorites. Ran across the street to Kholes since we heard they had maternity, nothing I would put on my body, then the Rack..not much...then off to Auburn to the Old Navy there...NOTHING...then the Super mall Rack where I FOUND...dun dun dun....

But in a pale pink!
I had tried these on at the regular Norstom's but they were 120 bucks plus tax...I just couldn't do it. Yesterday they were 70$ for being at the rack...then marked down to 52$ because they hadn't sold and then 50% off! They were 28 dollars with tax...So the maternity shopping was a bust but I did find a great pair of shoes, and a women could never have enough shoes and purses my mom always told me. I'm just living up to her standards! LOL. So there's my exciting week in a nutshell. It was fun week with lots of love and laughter, thank you Heavenly Father!

Its Official

I realized yesterday that I can no longer see my hip bones!! They are gone into an abyss of baby. I guess one day they will reemerge; however it was a sad day today, I thought it would take longer. But on a happy note I'm starting to show a bit!! For now I just look fat but one day that will tun into a bump :) Thanks for listening

Week 14

Progress of a 14 week old fetus:

This week's big developments: Your baby can now squint, frown, grimace, pee, and possibly suck his thumb! Thanks to brain impulses, his facial muscles are getting a workout as his tiny features form one expression after another. His kidneys are producing urine, which he releases into the amniotic fluid around him — a process he'll keep up until birth. He can grasp, too, and if you're having an ultrasound now, you may even catch him sucking his thumb.
In other news: Your baby's stretching out. From head to bottom, he measures 3 1/2 inches — about the size of a lemon — and he weighs 1 1/2 ounces. His body's growing faster than his head, which now sits upon a more distinct neck. By the end of this week, his arms will have grown to a length that's in proportion to the rest of his body. (His legs still have some lengthening to do.) He's starting to develop an ultra-fine, downy covering of hair, called lanugo, all over his body. Your baby's liver starts making bile this week — a sign that it's doing its job right — and his spleen starts helping in the production of red blood cells. Though you can't feel his tiny punches and kicks yet, your little pugilist's hands and feet (which now measure about 1/2 inch long) are more flexible and active.

Can't believe I still can't feel a lemon rolling around in my belly?? Seems odd! Thats the next milestone that I have been waiting for is some type of movement. Thats what excites me the most these days. We have another doctors appointment two weeks from tomorrow! Hearing the heart beat is always exciting. Well it was a nice day to get an LCD from work and spend the day at church, doing laundry, and snuggling with my favorite (and only) husband. So much needed time together.

Date Day

Steve and I went to Seattle yesterday, His mom's condo in Belltown is vacant again so we wen up had lunch did a little shopping, swam in the indoor pool for a while, playing an arousing game of water basketball and volleyball. Then caught the last 20 seconds of the Huskey game at a place called Sport, and came home. Well....When we got home this is what we found!!!

Notice the feather still attached to his mouth!!! Apparently we can't keep anything near his cage because he is VERY tricky!

Note: These pictures were placed here for you to be my whiteness that Shadow has been a naughty dog and that I hold the right to punish him for eating my pillow :)

We were also very excited to get our first baby gift several days ago!! So cute and thoughtful! Steve's cousin Erik and Brit brought them over. Steve is modeling this clothes for us in these pictures because they can have me in all of them. Its an Ericson baby not a Becky baby right??

Week 13

So I began week 13 with Puking. This is the beginning of the second trimester and I am still having problems brushing my teeth!! I am excited to have it out in the open soon that we are expecting! I love to talk about our little one.

On a good note my energy has picked up dramatically!! I have been able to keep up with the house work when I'm not working, cook some dinners, even made an Apple pie for Steve the other night!

I'm starting to enjoy being pregnant outside of the day to day worries that something might go astray. But we rely on our heavenly father to watch over us and that he truly knows best! Okay time for a picture of a shrimp!

Funny Pictures

Just a few funny pictures. Spauld and I went up to Seattle yesterday. She is now 22 weeks and in desperate need of maternity pants. Well there is really only one store within the state where you can try on designer maternity jeans called A Pea in the Pod. Anyway, so we drove up to Seattle and they have a "9 month" belly that you can try on and see what you will look like and how your clothes will fit. SOO here are the pictures of me 9 months pregnant, EXEPT I'm sure my face and my thighs will be fuller... But We well be close to having a baby by then so :)

PS. For my frugal friends AKA my mom's I found a pair of jeans I loved for $231 at a Pea in the Pod, came home and bought the exact same pair for $95 dollars (including shipping) off ebay and they even still had the tags!

12 Weeks

So today starts the last week of the first trimester!! YAY
Yesterday we went to the Dr. Office and met with a midwife named Kay Jackson. Who was very supportive, kind and spent at least 45 minutes with us. I had another Pap smear... OH BOY... and they used a doppler to hear the babies heart beat. It took her maybe 30 seconds to find it which was so reassuring, I just wish we could have heard it for longer :) The midwife said I had a round pelvis which will help with the labor part, (Maybe my hips wont spread too much). Well I started telling people today now that I'm 12 weeks and out of the "danger" zone of miscarriage.

Steve and I decided against genetic testing. After discussion we decided that their was no reason to waist any money because we would love this baby no matter what :).

I leave you with a picture of a lime tonight which is officially the size of our baby!!
