Pumpkin patch
We went to the Pumpkin Patch today and I just wanted to share a few pictures from last year and this year. Its amazing how one year can change a baby so much! What a blessing that the sun was out and shining for us the whole day! Thank you Lord :)
Oh yes and how tired you look with a newborn. Its amazing how rested I looked today vs. a year ago. Whew glad I'm getting sleep again...Until round 2 that is :)

Ericson Update...
Well we have patiently been getting ready for our trip to PNG. Gracie got her first passport in the mail this week, now we are applying for our Visa's and once we get those we will be buying our plane tickets and its a set thing. It seems to be coming all to fast! On one hand I am so excited for this amazing adventure on the other hand I'm completely overwhelmed and worried about all the little things like buying cloth diapers so I can diaper Gracie in PNG...
On another note I was writing about all the work layoffs...well because they let go of so many people they have tons of days for me to work, I am working 3 days a week this whole month and they were trying to convince me to work 4...NO THANK YOU! This is a blessing since we will be funding our own trip to PNG which will be quite expensive. Also Steve has been picking up lots of overtime so thats helpful in the financial department but I am getting tired of working opposite schedules and never seeing my husband.
Gracie Still has 5 teeth, she is standing on her own without holding onto anything but will not take a step...she looks at me and then goes straight to her knees and crawl/runs over. I know she could, she often walks with only the help of one finger of mine, but just wont take the leap. She has always been a great eater but has definitely narrowed her food that she likes lately. I tried feeding her cauliflower tonight which she ate the first bite and then proceeded to like the Johnny's seasoning off the rest and then throw them on the floor. She LOVES feeding Shadow.
Her First Birthday was a BLAST...but was quite CRAZY!! I think next year it will be much more scaled back, less people and potluck style. But you only turn one once and might as well go big the first time. Steve asked me "Will they all be like this??" Poor guy was being run ragged with all the "chores" I had for him to get ready.
Here ares some pictures that I took not at the party but several days later just to capture her enjoyment of cake :)

Gracie is so close to turning one and was still flaking daily, this yellowy color nastyness. EWW

Whoo Hoo
Well it hasn't been too long since I have blog last...Not sure if anyone in Blog land reads this...but here goes nothing!
One of Gracie's favorite things to do is play on the swing...We had a great trip to the park this last week and spent several mommy baby hours crawling in the grass, being pushed on the swing...Urping up everything after the swing, and then heading for frozen yogurt just for Gracie to fill her little belly back up.
Gracie has been eating everything in site these days, anything I put in front of her she wants, so I'm hoping that we will make it
past the 10% tile at our 1 year appointment.
Speaking of one year I recently turned in my schedule for September...I blocked out the whole week of Gracie's Birthday. I know overboard right?? But I want it to be special and she is only going to have one first birthday. Therefore I start planning NOW...Hmmm whats the theme you ask?? Well she is a fall baby so how about...OWL...we are going to have a Hoot of a time. If your reading this blog your invited because you know me well enough to have found the blog, lol. Here is a sample of the theme
On the other home front...I still have a job for now, we will see if I get my 2 days a week in September. I may have blocked out alot of days so I won't be surprised if I don't...But let me just say that 1 day a week is Perfect. LOL Just enough to work but mostly be home with my family and not be overwhelmed on my days off with laundry, grocery shopping...you know mom/wife duties.
The last update in the Ericson household was that we had to put Steve's dog May down. She was 17 and although it was time for her to leave this life it was so very hard on our whole family. Even though she slept all day, our house has been substantially quieter because Shadow doesn't have anyone to try to play with and run circle around. I do miss her and often my heart sinks when I drive home and her sweet face isn't waiting for me in the front window. We did love her so. But in the grand scheme of things this was our Father's plan and it was so nice to have Lorri there when she was put down. She was a great strength to Steve.
I have been reading a great book called Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet. I may do a review when I'm done if anyone is interested in a good read it is set in Seattle and takes place bouncing back between the 40's and 80's. I was intrenched tonight and since Gracie went to bed at 8:30 I got a good 2 hours of reading in. I last book I read was The Help and I just can't wait to see the movie I hope that it doesn't let me down.
As always XOXOXO

Time for an UPDATE
Well I guess it has been months since I've had an update posted...Here is what Gracie is up to now...
- 2 Teeth still (and sharp as ever)
- Crawling!
- Eating everything in site
- Pulls up to her knees with the help of furniture
- Furniture surfs taking a few steps at a time then falling down
-Still breast feeding...Man I'm ready to be done yesterday
- Sleeps like a champ 8pm to 7-9 am every day.
- Says Mama, Dada, and her favorite Uh Oh
- Starting swim lessons on August.
- Took her first plane trip last month
- Loves Frozen yogurt!!!
I guess I will add some pictures on here too :)

On the other home front... I just got a new camera so I have been taking tons of pictures of Gracie its so much fun! I love it! I got a Cannon T2i its a dslr and is awesome :)
I'm hoping to keep my job. Multicare is laying off (yes including nurses) 350 FTE's which is projecting to be about 593 people out of the 9,400 they employ. Now I don't have an FTE so they can't technically "lay me off" but I work per diem so they can just not schedule me to work, which would be like not having a job. So I guess I will ride it out and see what happens.
Steve and I had our 3rd Anniversary. We went to Claim Jumpers for lunch then a fun filled baby free day at the Family Fun center playing put put, go carts, and air hockey. What a sweet guy to put up with my silliness. But we had a blast :)
Thanks for checking in with us! Hope this finds you all well

Something I am afraid of...
Well hmmm...There is always fear of creepy crawly things that I don't want to come in contact with. Such as spiders, but what do I dream about that I don't want to happen,
1) I'm pregnant again. Ummm NO THANK YOU, I would gladly go through the birth process again but the pregnancy I would like to skip.
2) I loose my teeth...Odd dream I know...
3) Hiding in a house while its being robbed.
OKay well now that you know about my scary dreams that I have we can move on to a lighter note
My favorite show.
Is the Amazing Race. LOVE IT!
I also always enjoy I love lucy :)

And a quick picture of Gracie because I can't help but think she's cute

6 Months
Gracie is now 6 months old and I can't even believe it...
Wow how the time has flown by,
Heres our run down:
- Eating big girl food! GREEN BEANS to be exact
- 15 lbs 0.8 ounces
- Still no teeth
- Sitting up like a big girl on her own
- Now sleeping unswaddled, (most nights)
- Enjoying new sights and wonders
- Still nursing :)
Well I have been waiting very patiently for Gracie to turn six months so that I could start solid foods with her. Many mommies out there are now starting at 4 months but after much deliberation I decided to wait until 6 months to ensure she was ready and I was ready. I'm glad I did, but the green beans have not gone over as well as I anticipated. Gracie seems to watch everything that goes into my mouth as well as grabs for it so I thought that green beans would be a hit right?? MMMM not so much! She really wasn't sure about them. Bummer because I made a BIG batch of organic green bean baby food. Well here is the deal...I'm stingy so, she's going to have to keep not liking them for the next 14 nights lol.
Here is a small collage of the pictures that I took while feeding her real people food for the first time.

We just got back from a nice four day trip to Cushman, it was very relaxing and fun to spend time with my family with out any distractions. I sure love it up there. How times change. When my parents first bought the cabin I thought it was so boring because they didn't own a speed boat. Now I love the simplicity. Two more pictures before I go to bed of Gracie and I (Ignore the sun/wind effects) and Steve playing fetch with Shadow in the lake...
